北宋名画《千里江山图》纵51.5厘米，横1191.5厘米，绢本，青绿设色，无款，据卷后蔡京题跋可知系18岁少年王希孟所作，现藏于北京故宫博物院，是中国古代十大名画之一。电影《只此青绿》改编自同名舞蹈诗剧，以《千里江山图》为创作背景，以一位现代文物研究员（展卷人）对少年画家希孟的创作历程探究为线索，将900年时空距离消弭于无形，让艺术以特别的方式实现了“永恒”。
电影由问篆、初见、唱丝、听雨、寻石、习笔、青绿、淬墨、苦思、入画10个单元串接而成，从绘画必须用到的绢布、颜料、笔墨到画家的构思、着笔，再到画卷流传中题跋、用印的文化习惯，均以科普方式送到观众的眼前，却又自然流畅，润物无声。《千里江山图》是中国古代青绿山水的代表作，片名中的“只此”二字即有“绝无仅有”之义。“绝无”“仅有”。后来的乾隆皇帝为此画题跋：“江山千里望无垠。”
电影是一部舞剧，只有音乐没有旁白，另有极少量的文字提示，几乎全靠音乐和演员的肢体语言传递信息，但在人物形象塑造上却表现出非凡的功力。展卷人和希孟之间的互动是主线，也是今人与古人之间感人至深的情感纽带。希孟的画室中，一灯如豆，风来时，展卷人与希孟相继伸出双手，共同守护那一点文化微光；同样的夜色，映在希孟的窗前，也映在展卷人的窗前；在寒凉的夜里、在落雪的严冬，希孟艰苦作画，一件薄薄的外披在激情来临时数度被他抖落，是穿越时空的展卷人一次又一次为他拾起，置于脚边，置于案头，在最后终于披到了他的肩上；两个人还多次以双人舞的方式彼此支撑，并一起模拟峰峦起伏的曲线。片尾，画卷展柜旁，隔着人流，展卷人与希孟在长卷两端遥遥相对，他们的目光彼此交汇。相信不必等到他们向对方行礼致敬的那一刻，已有无数观众与展卷人共情，激动落泪。
那些寒暑易节中的不屈不挠、永不言弃，那让展卷人露出惊喜却被希孟抟揉丢弃的废稿，那在画室中苦思冥想、一点点苍白憔悴下去的少年，无不彰显着对艺术精益求精的追求。篆刻人、织绢人、磨石人、制笔人、制墨人，是工匠，也是工匠精神的传承者。他们是希孟的精神后盾，是在希孟陷入创作困境时给予他力量的人，是他们形成的合力，让希孟终能落泪掷笔力作完成。哭哭笑笑之间，他们与希孟凝结为彼此最坚定的信念。
影片情节简单，但立意鲜明且厚重。画作无名无款，却让人为希孟的苦心孤诣而动容。希孟的背后，将一项又一项的非物质文化遗产展现在今人面前的匠人，同样值得歌颂，缺少了他们中的任何一种匠心手作，《千里江山图》都不可能成就艺术的辉煌。从这个意义上讲，《只此青绿》并非只为希孟作传，也是在为无数无名的劳动者作传。
由画作抽象出的“青绿”是影片中最具意味的形象。演员身上的服装在不同时期有着不同的色彩，直到希孟入画后才呈现出与画卷晕染后完全一致的青绿，将希孟脱胎换骨的艺术成长表现得淋漓尽致。第七单元“青绿”的群舞让人印象格外深刻，“青绿腰”的高低俯仰便是山形错落、山势起伏，镜面上的倒影就是水中的山影，奇幻又写实。以“青绿”为代表的群舞，将“山”与“江”的刚柔相济表现得恰到好处。
作为舞剧，片中的舞蹈契合场景、富有张力。“听雨”单元的踏水起舞是唯美的“雨中曲”，以少年希孟为视觉中心，将阔大的江山转换为背景，又以舞步连起了江山。除了蚕桑制绢一段，全剧几乎都是刚劲矫健的力量型舞蹈，就包括以女性角色出场的制笔人的舞蹈也是一样的，这大抵也是在告诉观众，文化是一种力量。
也许是因为舞蹈带来的灵感，影片中有许多圆形构图和旋转运镜，青绿脚下不停流转的石粉、制墨人搅动的墨缸中的浓墨、希孟在山巅平台的独舞都是。其中隐约可见自然时光的流逝之遽，艺术构思的澎湃之情，山不转水转的动静之美以及道家文化中的太极之思。
影片的转场是颇值得称道的。无论是从展卷人放大镜下的《千里江山图》的屋舍转到希孟的采风、写生，还是从织绢人檐前的落雨转到希孟的听雨，从希孟的水中之卧转到画室之卧，或是从制墨场的雪转向希孟拂去砚上的落雪开始研墨，都是那样自然地带动了空间、场景的拓展和转换。
电影的抒情离不开核心场景和核心意象。希孟的画室中有一扇一直打开的窗子，窗子中一直有一抹远处的殿檐，观众可以从窗子中看到秋天的明月、冬日的落雪，看到年复一年四时的变迁。不变的是希孟画案上从未熄灭的灯盏，四处散落的草稿，还有怀中手上的卷轴。15岁的卷轴是先生心中的“孺子可教”；17岁的卷轴是落雪的宫殿、高不可攀的丹陛，是单薄的身体、执着的精神；18岁的卷轴是心血耗尽终有所成的如释重负，是后人国宝级的珍藏。

孟庆旸，1992年4月24日出生于河南省周口市。 枣指2008年，考入北京舞蹈学院古典舞系。 2012年，毕业后到中国东方演艺集团工作，成为一名领衔主演。
